In September 2014 Sterk was responsible for quite a feat of foundation work. In a single day Sterk installed the box piles and sheet pile planks for a carrier construction of a new tunnel deck. Sterk used four cranes in order to meet this extremely short deadline.

In Oudenbosch the Netherlands a new bypass is being built that will greatly improve traffic flow. Part of this bypass is a railroad underpass. In the weekend of September 13th the large tunnel deck of this underpass was put into place.

Installation of the deck meant interrupting train traffic. Whereas normally this type of work is done in two separate phases, it was decided that this time all the work had to be completed in a single phase so that train passengers would undergo as little nuisance as possible.

This meant that in a single weekend the track had to be broken down, groundwork had to be done, the carrier construction had to be installed and the tunnel deck had to be put into place. After all of this the track could be reassembled.

Hard work, solid preparation and good communication between all parties involved made it possible that the railway was closed on Friday night but was back in use on Monday morning.
