SHEET PILING: INSTALLATION BY VIBRATORY MEANS

Sterk specialises in installing steel sheet piling by employing (high-frequency) vibrations. It is one of the most prevalent installation techniques used in sheet piling constructions owing to its relatively high productivity rate. Earth-retention and damming constructions that are executed with sheet piles include construction pits, water-retaining structures, quay walls or, for example, earth-retaining walls. Sterk’s experienced team of staff, together with its comprehensive and versatile machinery, ensures that virtually any job can be tackled appropriately and effectively.

When it comes to installing sheet piling through vibration, Sterk exclusively employs high-frequency vibratory hammers with variable moment technology. This low-vibration method is fast-working and in many cases can be easily implemented in a built-up or inner-city location.

Sterk has both crawler cranes and hydraulic cranes at its disposal for the vibration-based installation of sheet piling. The hydraulic cranes are versatile, can be deployed quickly and are notable for their high rate of productivity. On the other hand, the crawler cranes are able to put longer sheet-pile planks in place and have a greater reach. Below you will find several video’s where you can see both the hydraulic cranes as well as the crawler cranes at work:
