WOODEN AND CONCRETE PILE EXTRACTATION

The removal/extraction of piles is usually done when a site is being prepared for redevelopment or when other work necessitates the removal of old foundation structures. Over the years, Sterk has evolved to become a specialist in the removal of old pile foundations. This includes the removal of wooden or concrete driven piles. To accomplish this, we have at our disposal a wide range of pile extractors that enable us to remove piles of any diameter.

If so desired, we can also assist with the partial removal of old pile foundations. This may be relevant, for example, where an impermeable layer of clay is present which needs to be left intact.

If we do not have the appropriate pile extractor to hand, we simply build one of our own. A good example of this is that of the Kaiserschleuse project in Bremerhaven. This assignment required our removal of more than 6,000 wooden piles from the soil. The piles had diameters ranging from 300 mm to 600 mm at a length of 18 metres. The pile extractors used for this project were specially developed by Sterk.
